Utah Freedom Memorial
3 June 2008 – Utah Chamber of Commerce Supports Utah Freedom Memorial.
Donna M. Brown, current President of the Utah Chamber of Commerce Association, has submitted her official support letter for the Utah Freedom Memorial to the UFM Executive Steering Committee.
“Donna Brown’s support is a positive indication of the state-wide significance this monument holds for all citizens of Utah,” said Scott Trudo, co-chair of the UFM.
Addressing Tony Galvez, co-chair of the UFM, Brown said, “I honor your enthusiasm for creating a tangible tribute to those men and women who have served, are serving, and will serve in the United States Armed Forces. Your patriotism is commendable and the message you will share with others is a good message of recognition and pride in those who serve their country. As president of the Utah State Chamber of Commerce, I encourage you to carry through with this project and, Mr. Galvez, let it help you heal from the ultimate sacrifice of your son, Adam, in the hope that building it and maintaining it will help others feel your spirit. I am confident that the Utah Freedom Memorial will ultimately be placed in a site that has statewide significance, that will have the reverence required for such a monument, and that will be easily accessible to youth and adults. I look forward to attending the dedication ceremony.”
Brown concluded by saying, “I hope others will support you in as many ways
possible – including our state’s businessmen and business women -- in the building of this tribute to Utah’s servicemen and women.”
MORE ABOUT THE UTAH FREEDOM MEMORIAL
The Utah Freedom Memorial organization is committed to build a Utah state-wide memorial that will ‘celebrate freedom and honor those who defend it’. The project was inspired by Tony Galvez, a Gold Star Father, and Scott Trudo, WalMart store manager and a patriot to freedom. The monument will be designed to celebrate freedom, honor current and past Utah military members with emphasis on the current war on terrorism, and educate children not associated with the military to experience a love for freedom, an awareness of their opportunities to preserve it, and a respect for those who defend it. More information on this memorial project, or to make donations, go to www.UtahFreedomMemorial.org.
